2 PhD Studentships, Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Leicester
The Department of Politics and International Relations is pleased to offer two fully-funded studentships for October 2013 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. The studentships will pay UK/EU tuition fees for three years and include an annual stipend (worth at least £13,590 each year) and Research Training Support Grant (worth £750 each year).
Research Areas and Supervision
The studentships are open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in the fields of Parties, Participation and Public Opinion (PPPO) or Political Theory.
The successful applicants will join one of our research clusters - either in Parties, Participation, and Public Opinion (http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/politi ... government) or Global Ethics and Political Theory (http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/politi ... cal-theory). Applications from a wide range of research areas are welcomed, including Euroscepticism, comparative politics, and electoral politics (PPPO) and citizenship, rights, and justice (Political Theory). Please have a look at the areas of research interest and expertise of the members of staff in each of the two research clusters. Dissertation proposals that fit well with existing or recently completed research projects will be particularly welcome.
Supervisors will be appointed subject to the agreed research projects.
Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent foreign qualification) in a relevant discipline and meet the University’s standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before October 2013.
These studentships are only available to applicants who are eligible to pay the UK/EU tuition fee - i.e., those who are permanently resident in the UK or another EU country.
These studentships are for full-time study only and applicants must be able to commence their studies in October 2013.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to the Department's Postgraduate Tutor, Dr Laura Brace:
