FIZ Technik: "Kreativplattform" des Ingenieurs durch Technikinformation.
FIZ Technik ist Informationsanbieter und -produzent gleichermaßen. Der Host orientiert sich vor allem am deutschen Markt mit einem umfassenden Angebot an ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Datenbanken. Der Informationsproduzent erstellt mit der TEMA eine qualitativ hochwertige bibliographische Datenbank für die "klassischen" Technikbereiche. Ausgereift ist der eingesetzte Thesaurus "Technik und Management". Neben dem Webangebot agiert FIZ Technik erfolgreich bei Intranetlösungen in Hochschulen und großen Unternehmen. Wir beschreiben FIZ Technik sowohl hinsichtlich betriebswirtschaftlicher als auch informationswissenschaftlicher Aspekte. Das Fazit bringt eine SWOT-Analyse.

Abstract. FIZ Technik is both, information supplier and information producer. The supplier acts mainly in the German information market and offers a broad range of engineering databases. The producer makes TEMA, a high-quality bibliographical database for "classical" technical areas. The used thesaurus "Technik und Management" seems fully developed. Beside the World Wide Web FIZ Technik operates successfully with its intranet solutions for universities and big businesses. We describe FIZ Technik in an economic and in an information science perspective. In the conclusion, there is a SWOT analysis.
