Social program
Warming up
To get a first impression of Duesseldorf and it's local specialities, we invite you to join us in the house brewery Uerige on Sunday, August 23rd. Starting at 6pm, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy typical German food & beer and get to know other CTF09 participants and your hosts.
Getting to the Uerige is pretty easy: take a subway/tram from Duesseldorf main station to the old town ("Altstadt") stop "Heinrich-Heine-Allee" and walk westwards down the "Flinger Straße" towards the Rhine. After a 5 minute walk, you will reach the crossing "Flinger Straße" / "Berger Straße" where the Uerige is located.

Guided tour
On Tuesday, August 25th, before the conference dinner, there will be a guided tour through the Media Harbor Duesseldorf. The tour will start at 5:15pm and last about two hours. We will meet in front of the "Rheinturm" (Rhine Tower), Stromstr. 20.
The meeting point can be easily reached by bus from the university campus: take the bus line 835 towards "D-Comeniusplatz" or 836 towards "D-Am Seestern" and get out at "D-Landtag/Kniebrücke" after 15 minutes. From there it's just a 5 minute walk to the Rhine Tower, which you cannot miss.
Conference dinner
The conference dinner will take place in the restaurant "Zum Trompeter" (German website only) on Tuesday, August 25th, at 7:30pm. "Zum Trompeter" is just a 5 minute walk from the "Kirchplatz" tram/bus stop and easy to get to from both the recommended hotels and the campus or the main station. People taking part in the guided tour will be taken to the restaurant after the tour.
If you like to go there directly from the University, take the bus line 835 towards "D-Comeniusplatz" or 836 towards "D-Am Seestern" and exit at the stop "Kirchplatz". Walk down the "Fürstenwall" to your right for 500m and you will see the restaurant on your right hand side.
