Accommodation

Option 1: booking accommodation
  a) Student dormitories
The facilities are located at Strümpellstraße, about 20min. walk from campus.
In the student dormitory you have a fully furnished single room with sink. You will have to share bathroom (showers) and toilets with other students. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, a fridge, a sink and table / chairs, so students can cook and eat together, if they like.
b) Guest families
These are also located within city limits and offer mainly single-rooms. Doubles might be available on request. In a guest family you have your own room and share bathroom and kitchen with the family. In every guest family it is possible to make tea or coffee in the kitchen and put some food in the fridge. Further cooking is normally not necessary, since you can eat in the studentīs restaurant on campus.
You can state your preferences in the registration form, but due to limited resources we will honor them on a first-come-first-served basis.
The cost for the duration of the summer school (Jul. 14 - Aug. 3) is EUR 230 / US$ 220.

Due to high demand for accommodation in student dormitories, we are reaching the limits of our capacities. We've set up a waiting list for those of you who still want to sign up for the dorms, but we can't guarantee that we'll be able to provide you with a room. We will notify you as soon as we have the exact numbers. Please note that there are still some places available in guest families.

Option 2: making your own arrangements
a) a special conference rate for Summer School participants is available at the Sorat Hotel in Duesseldorf. The Sorat is a first class hotel (generous breakfast included) not far from the university. You must mention the code "Summerschool 2002" in order to obtain the exceptional rates for single rooms at DM 130 (ca. EUR 67) and double rooms at DM 160 (ca. EUR 82).
For information about the hotel take a look at their website.
b) you can also make any other arrangements according to your convenience. Here are some helpful links.

Of course there are cafeterias and student restaurants on campus, where you have a wide choice of offerings (i.e. vegetarian meals, salads, snacks, drinks..). There is a plan for the studentīs restaurant on the web under: www.uni-duesseldorf.de/WWW/Studentenwerk/ (Essen/ Speiseplaene).
