Application procedures
The BA and MA programmes always begin in the winter semester (1 October – 31 March). It is not possible to register starting summer semester (1 April – 30 September).

Here are the steps that you need to take in order to apply for the MA programme:
- Submit an application for the process of determining eligibility for the Masters Programme in Social Sciences (Antrag auf Eignungsfeststellung), along with a notarised copy of the university transcript/diploma as soon as possible but before July 31st to Prof. Karl-Heinz Reuband. - In special circumstances, the deadline for submitting documents and notarised certificates may be extended to October 1st.
- Submit an application for unrestricted degree programmes for foreign students, if applicable. (Einschreibeantrag für zulassungsfreie Fächer) along with the certificate of successful completion of the process of determining eligibility (Eignungsfeststellung) by October 10th to the Student Registration Office (Studierendensekretariat).

Please note:
- For international students, proof of having passed the DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang) must be submitted with your application. If you have not yet taken the DSH or a recognised equivalent, you will need to do so after having received a letter of eligibility for the masters programme and prior to submitting your application to the registration office.
- If you have previously studied at another German university, proof of exmatriculation must also be submitted along with your application.
