The need for databases with a European emphasis in the field of the humanities has been felt for some time. American Database serve academic researches well, but they take up European issues only sporadically. To  offset this difficulty we have started a European-based CD-ROM disk, Sophia, with an accent on humanities. Database with an emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe are also included.
