Duration: November 2008 – October 2011
Intention and Concept:
LeLeCon is an empirical study about the costs and expenditure (for example of time) needed to develop, perform and evaluate blended-learning courses in comparison to traditional academic teaching.
It also deals with the impact of faculty cultures on the individual perception of work load.
Research questions are: What does academic teaching cost? Can blended learning save us time and money or is it more time-consuming than traditional academic teaching?
The project is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
E-Learning Trainings for Tertiary Education
Since summer 2007 the staff of the department for educational research and management provides various E-Learning trainings for academic staff. The trainings are part of the NRW-certificate "Professionelle Lehrkompetenz für die Hochschule" (professional teaching competencies for tertiary education):
- E-Learning basic course
- trends in E-Learning
- E-Learning advanced training course
- teaching with E-Portfolios
- E-Learning multimedia
- communication online, focus on virtual classroom
You find detailed information about each training here.
The trainers are all qualified as E-Learning tutor (trainings lasted several months) and improve their knowledge by attending other trainings for tertiary education
The trainings were designed and carried out by: Nina Göddertz, Anja Kirberg, Timo van Treeck, Mirco Wieg and Prof. Heiner Barz (design only).
In addition to these trainings, smaller on-demand-trainings were developed, dealing with different themes.
