GENERAL LINGUISTICS

Version "G", which focuses on the basics

This version of the undergraduate study programme in linguistics combines comprehensive studies in general linguistics, practice of a foreign language and studies in philosophy customized for linguists.

The major foreign language ("Große Fremdsprache")

The studies in the major foreign language ("Große Fremdsprache") focus on a language that students have already knowledge of (e.g. from school), which will be advanced to a proficient level. Students can choose from English, French, Italian, Spanish, German (as a foreign language) or another language such as Japanese.

Philosophy

The studies in philosophy introduces students to theoretical and practical aspects of argumentation and to linguistically relevant fields such as language philosophy and cognitive sciences.
