Bachelor of Arts
The undergraduate study programme is comprised of six terms and provides graduates with a professional qualification and an academic degree.
The degree and the underlying credit points system (CPS) are internationally accepted. The degree does not qualify graduates for a PhD programme. The postgraduate studies provide graduates with an academic degree that is equivalent to the degree the current postgraduate studies “Magisterstudium” conclude with.
Structured undergraduate study programmes (integrative Bachlorstudiengänge) combine different academic disciplines.
Combinatory study programmes, which provide graduates with the academic degree Bachelor of Arts, consist of main study programmes and supplementary study programmes. The main study programme (Kernfach) you choose accounts for more than 50% of the combinatory study programme. The supplementary study programme (Ergänzungsfach) is less comprehensive.
Both structured undergraduate study programmes and combinatory study programmes comprise elective courses worth 18 credit points. These courses can be chosen freely from the whole body of academic courses on offer.
Further information on the undergraduate study programmes with the academic degree Bachelor of Arts can be found on the website of the centre for guidance and student support “Zentrale Studienberatung” at Heinrich Heine University.
