Im Sommersemester 2007 lehrt Dr. Sridhar Rajeswaran, Lyriker, Dramatiker und Literaturwissenschaftler des English Department der University of Bombay, als diesjähriger Poet in Residence an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität im Studiengang Literaturübersetzen. Seine Workshops bieten Gelegenheit, eigene Texte zu verfassen und sich kreativ mit der englischen Sprache auseinanderzusetzen.

In this workshop Dr. Sridhar Rajeswaran, this year's poet in residence at the Düsseldorf University, will be presenting some of his poems that have been published in several literary magazines of high prestige.
Dr. Rajeswaran is not only a renowned poet, playwright and literary critic, but also Professor of English at the University of Bombay, and a "Global Virtual Faculty Member" of the Farleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver.
Being an introduction into the translation of lyrical texts, the other part of the workshop will be dealing with relevant questions of style and cultural context on the basis of the presented texts.

His workshop will give the participants the unique opportunity not only to write own texts and to make creative use of the English language, but also to receive useful advice by a skilful and experienced writer.
